概要 / Overview

浦項工科大学校(Pohang University of Science and Technology, POSTECH)は、大韓民国東海岸の浦項（ポハン）に位置する。1986年に韓国で初めて設立された研究中心型の大学である。理工系を中心に、学部レベルで11の学部と学科、大学院レベルで11の学部と5の学科などを有している。

Undergraduate students who passed the internal selection for a one-year exchange to POSTECH (Pohang University of Science and Technology) starting in the autumn semester will be eligible to apply for the "Global Young Leaders Program (GYLP)," which fully covers round-trip air travel and living expenses. Details can be found below.

1 Full Academic Year Program With Exceptional Scholarship Package (GYLP)

Global Young Leaders Program (GYLP) is a program fully funded by POSCO & POSTECH.
All expenses (including round-trip travel expenses) throughout the stay in Korea will be covered by POSCO & POSTECH for selected students.
As a GYLP student, you will be able to take courses and participate in research as well as experience Korean culture and industry.
＊Important Notes
・Undergraduate students who have passed the internal screening for USTEP as prospective exchange students to POSTECH, and whose study abroad period is one full academic year starting from the Autumn semester, are eligible to apply for this program.
・If applicants do not pass the screening for GYLP, they must switch their application to the regular Academic Exchange Program (one full academic year starting from the Autumn semester).
・Therefore, applicants need to select the faculty/department they wish to be affiliated with as a regular exchange student at the time of internal application, in case they are not selected for GYLP due to its highly competitive nature.

【GYLPの申請の流れと注意点 *English follows】
※GYLPには採択されない可能性もあるため、GYLP希望者は、GYLPと並行して通常の交換留学の申請も進めることになります。

［1］ 学内選考申請時
全学交換留学のUTAS申請書にて、POSTECHに関して以下のように記入すること。
留学期間：「Autumn ＆ Spring」を選択（※GYLP採択者は2学期分の派遣となるため）
「1学期のみ派遣可となった場合」： 1学期のみの派遣となった場合はGYLPへの応募はできませんが、それでも通常のPOSTECHへの交換留学を希望する場合は「希望する」を選択してください。
「16. 派遣先での学習・研究計画」： GYLPおよび通常の交換留学、両方の計画を記載

［2］ 2月上旬～2月下旬：GYLP出願
学内選考を通過しPOSTECHに内定したら、 2月上旬にPOSTECHから届く案内を元に、オンライン申請を完了させる。必要書類等をGYLP公式サイトで事前確認・用意しておくこと。

［3］ 3月中旬 ～ 3月下旬：通常の交換留学の推薦
本学本部よりPOSTECHへ通常の交換留学の推薦を行う。必要情報の提供を求められるので、本学からのメールをよく確認すること。

［4］ 4月上旬 ～ 4月中旬：通常の交換留学の申請
POSTECHの指定システムより、自身で申請を行う。

［5］ 4月～5月：GYLP選考 ＆ 結果発表
書類審査による選考（必要に応じてオンライン面接を実施）。5月末にGYLPの結果通知。合否を本学に連絡。

［6］ 6月：通常の交換留学 結果発表
6月中旬に通常の交換留学の結果通知。GYLPに採択された場合は、通常の交換留学は辞退する。GYLPが不採択だった場合は通常の交換留学の手続きを進める。

[GYLP Application Process & Key Information]
*Since acceptance into GYLP is not guaranteed, applicants wishing to apply for GYLP must also proceed with the application for the regular academic exchange program simultaneously.

[1] Internal Selection Application
On the UTAS application form for USTEP, please fill out the section for POSTECH as follows:
Study Period: Select "Autumn & Spring" (*Students accepted into GYLP will be dispatched for two semesters).
"Will you accept the shorter period?": You cannot participate in GYLP if you are selected to study abroad at POSTECH for only one semester. However, if you still wish to participate in the regular exchange program at POSTECH in that case, please select "Yes"
"16. Research or Study Plan While at Your University of Choice": Describe your plans for both GYLP and the regular academic exchange program.

[2] Early to Late February: GYLP Application
Once you pass the internal screening and are tentatively assigned to POSTECH, complete your online application based on the guidelines sent by POSTECH in early February. Please check the required documents on the official GYLP website in advance and prepare them accordingly.

[3] Mid- to Late March: Nomination for Regular Academic Exchange
UTokyo will submit the formal nomination for the regular exchange program to POSTECH. You may be asked to provide necessary information, so please check emails from UTokyo carefully.

[4] Early to Mid-April: Student Application for Regular Academic Exchange
Submit your application individually via the designated POSTECH online system.

[5] April – May: GYLP Screening & Announcement
Screening via document evaluation (an online interview may be conducted if necessary). GYLP selection results will be announced at the end of May. Please inform UTokyo of your result upon receiving it.

[6] June: Regular Academic Exchange Results
Admission results for the regular exchange program will be announced in mid-June. If accepted into GYLP, you will decline the offer for regular academic exchange. If not accepted into GYLP, you will proceed with the procedures for regular academic exchange.
