UTokyo Go Global Week 2021

We are going to hold the ‘Go Global Week 2021’ from October 26 to 29, where we will host a variety of information sessions and international exchange events!
 
Currently, the COVID 19 pandemic has not settled down yet. However, UTokyo has resumed a part of its study abroad programs this fall. Also, there are plenty of international exchange opportunities online and on the UTokyo campus. Please join UTokyo Go Global Week 2021 to get an overview of those opportunities for students. Some events offer actual international exchange during the events!

 
 
1. Main session (Overall briefing session)

Content: You will be able to get the overview of study abroad programs and international exchange opportunities in UTokyo. If you are not sure which event to join yet, we recommend you to register to this session!
Date & Time: October 26, Tuesday, 19:00~ around 20:00
Place: YouTube Live

Language: Japanese
*We will upload the slides of the event in Japanese, as well as in English later.
Participants: UTokyo students (and staff members)

Register by 12:00 (noon) of October 26, Tuesday using the pre-registration form below. The live URL link will be sent to registrants in the afternoon of the event day.
A recorded video will be uploaded later in case you missed the live session.

2. Sub sessions (various events)

During the Go Global Week, various events related to study abroad programs and international exchange events will be held. Some events offer students opportunities to interact with students with study abroad experiences, students who are currently studying abroad, or students from overseas universities...and more! Event styles (online/offline), working language, and if the events require registration vary, so please check the details of each event through the list below. We will update information as we receive from event organizers.

Chinese Conversation Club
Organizer: International Student Support Room, Global Campus Initiatives
Outline: 在线中文茶话会是由留学生支援室主办的活动,旨在为东京大学的留学生和日本学生提供一个交流的平台。同学们可以用中文或是日文等,就日常生活、爱好、文化、学业、就职等展开话题、交换想法以及信息。Chinese Conversation Club is a meet-up for UTokyo Chinese speaking students and Japanese students. You can discuss various topics, such as daily life, hobbies, culture, studies, and job-hunting in Japanese, Chinese and other languages.

ISSR Language Exchange Program Introductory Session
Organizer: International Student Support Room, Global Campus Initiatives
Outline:"What is Language Exchange Program?" "What languages can I exchange in?" "I want to know the participants' experiences!" This is an information session for students who are interested in the program. We welcome those who just wish to listen to the overview of this program, as you may sign up for the program anytime during the semester.

Go Global Meeting

Outline: We will hold a panel session with students who participated in the University-Wide Student Exchange Program (USTEP) in the first half. In the second half, students who are currently studying abroad will join and you can ask questions to them in a small group.

UTokyo×SNU Online Interchange Event

Outline: Gateway will organize an online interchange event with Seoul National University (SNU). We will focus on the difference and similarity between Japanese and South Korean culture. Acquaint yourself with South Korean food, pop music, tourist destinations, annual events, etc.

Talk session When I was 19

Outline: Go Global Gateway organizes an online interactive event “When I was 19” that invites people with international experiences in a variety of fields to talk about what they thought at the age of 19 and careers after graduation from the university. This time, we invite Ms. Kei Kawana, who graduated from the Faculty of Agriculture, UTokyo and established Neighbor’s Farm in Hino city, Tokyo.  She will talk about what she thought and did at the age of 19, her experiences of living abroad and working at an agricultural corporation, and activities of Neighbor’s Farm. After her talk, Ms. Kawana will answer questions from participants during a Q&A session. We will accept applications for this event from Oct. 11(Mon).
