Types of the University-wide Short-term Study Abroad Programs

This page explains the kinds of “Short-term study abroad programs for UTokyo students”(administered by the Center for Global Education (formerly the Division for Global Campus Initiatives) and students of any college, faculty, or graduate school may be able to participate). UTokyo students need to apply through UTokyo to participate to the programs. To see the whole image of the programs offered in UTokyo, please refer to the “Globalization Strategy of UTokyo” page.

List of the programs
 
(1) Short-Term Summer Study Abroad Programs administered by the Center for Global Education (formerly the Division for Global Campus Initiatives) 

These programs are implemented during summer break. Some programs are planned and offered by UTokyo in corporation with partner universities overseas, some programs are a customized version of existing programs by partner universities. The contents of programs are various, including but not limited to; lecture (language study or specific topic), fieldwork, interactions with local students, cultural experiences. 

(2) Short-Term Winter Study Abroad Programs administered by the Center for Global Education (formerly the Division for Global Campus Initiatives) 

These programs are implemented during spring break. Just like summer programs mentioned above, some programs are planned and offered by UTokyo in corporation with a partner university overseas, some programs are a customized version of existing programs by partner universities. The contents of programs are various, including but not limited to; lecture (language study or specific topic), fieldwork, interactions with local students, cultural experiences.

(3) Other programs 

*Implementation of a program in this category may be suspended depending on the AY.
