Global Challenge Lab 23: Affordable and Clean Energy

Overview

Imperial Enterprise Lab, Imperial College London, together with Tsinghua University’s x-lab in Beijing and the Technical University of Munich, is working with global university partners to bring together hundreds of students to grow their international network, gain new skills and create new ideas that help achieve UN SDG 7: Affordable and Clean Energy. Students from all disciplinary backgrounds are encouraged to join! This is a 12-day programme of workshops, guest speakers and mentoring to help students come up with and develop innovative ideas. At the end of the programme, the top 6 teams will have the opportunity to pitch their ideas and win a share of a £10,000 prize fund!

Date: July 6 (Thursday) - July 18 (Tuesday), 2023
Venue: Online
Host: Imperial College London (UK), Tsinghua University (China), and Technical University of Munich (Germany)
Target: Applying students are required to meet the following requirements:
・Students who are belong to a regular course of a College, Faculty, or Graduate School of UTokyo at the time of application, and will be enrolled in a regular course of a College, Faculty, or Graduate School throughout the program period. Those who are on temporary leave from UTokyo during the time of the program cannot participate in the program. Please note that those who graduate from/complete the faculty/graduate school of UTokyo during the study-abroad period are not eligible.
・Sufficient English proficiency.
Capacity: N/A. If you join with others as a team, you can have no more than two people from the same university in your team.
Deadline: NOON, June 28 (Wednesday), 2023 (Please contact the International Education Promotion Group of UTokyo by this date and time.)
Program Cost: No fee needed

Please contact the International Education Promotion Group of UTokyo following the instructions below by the above-mentioned deadline.

・Please note that those who will be nominated will be required to complete the application via the program webpage above by July 1 (Saturday) (The International Education Promotion Group of UTokyo will inform the applicants of the application individually).

Notes

・Before applying, applicants must make sure that the program does not interfere with their UTokyo courses since no considerations will be made to attend the program. Applicants are responsible for making a clear study plan on their own.
・Before applying, please confirm and consult with your affiliated College, Faculty, or Graduate School at the time of participation to the program about participating in the program to ensure you fully understand issues concerning study-abroad. In case it turned out that participation to the program will affect your study plan at UTokyo, your affiliated College, Faculty, or Graduate School may not permit your participation to the program even after your are accepted by the host institution.
・Participants must submit a report (a form will be sent out to the participants later) to the International Education Promotion Group of UTokyo, after completing program.
