AUA Asia Deep Dive Program 2024

This is organized by AUA (Asian Universities Alliance). There will be lectures on the theme of the forum "A tapestry of natural, cultural, and social diversity in Indonesia". See the program schedule for the details.

Programs

Date: July 9 - 29, 2024
[Host/Venue] Universitas Indonesia (Host), Universiti Malaya (Co-Host)(Indonesia)
[Capacity] Two undergraduate/graduate students
(potential for one student to be placed on a waiting list)
Students with basic knowledge and interest in Climate Science, and a bit of computer programming skill (knowing it will be good but not essential) is encouraged to apply.
[Expenses] Free of Charge. The host institution will cover the following (fees).
- Travel stipend USD500 (from Japan)
- Local accommodation (hotel)
- Meals
- Registration fee
- Local transportation during activity - All expenses for multicultural trips in Jakarta and Yogyakarta
(*Students are responsible to pay for own flights, meals other than specified in the program schedule, insurance & personal expenses.)

[Eligibility Criteria and Requirements]
-Applicants must be students who are enrolled as full-time undergraduate students at the University during the period of application and the program. Those who are on temporary leave from the University or those who will lose their student status due to graduation, etc. during the time of the program are not eligible to apply. Please note that those who graduate from/complete the faculty of UTokyo in March 2024 are not eligible.
-Please consult with the relevant section of the College or Faculty with which you will be affiliated during the program term in order to receive explanations on the points to be noted concerning the program, and fully understand the points before submitting their application. Follow the instructions from the relevant section of the College or Faculty that you are scheduled to belong to at the time of the program and receive the explanation well before participating in the program. Please note that there could be specific regulations regarding the program. Also if you have an academic advisor, please get approval on applying the program.

The applicant must be able to provide a letter of recommendation from a faculty member if you are selected.
-【Insurance/Overseas Student Safety Management Assistance】After passing the internal selection process and being accepted into the study abroad program, students are required to take out Japan Educational Exchanges and Services (JEES) “Futai Kaigaku” and the “OSSMA” (Overseas Student Safety Management Assistance) provided by Emergency Assistance Japan Co., Ltd. as a means of safety management during the program at their own expense (this will not be paid for by the University). Taking out this insurance and OSSMA will be one of the requirements for applying to a study abroad program through this application. Details of the insurance and OSSMA will be sent to students who are accepted into the programs at a later date.
-Students must follow all instructions or warnings given by UTokyo and the host institute.

 Nominees will be selected by a draw

Please ensure that you allow ample time to receive an explanation of academic considerations regarding program participation from the relevant department within your faculty or graduate school. Please note that it may not be possible to provide immediate assistance just before the deadline. Confirm the full name of the person who provided the explanation.

Those selected must submit a letter of recommendation from a faculty member by June 8th
