Learning SDGs Globally and Locally(Online)

Overview

The intensive course named "Learning SDGs Globally and Locally" by Osaka University, one of AEARU member universities, is offered and students from AEARU member universities are eligible to apply. The contents of the program are lectures on the four main themes (Gender Issues in Japan, Equity & Decent Work, Climate Change & Energy, Biodiversity and the Environment) and discussions. To participate the program, students must complete application by the deadline following the instructions below. The course-offering university retains the right to make the final decision.

(Target)Applying students are required to be belong to a regular course of a College, Faculty, or Graduate School of UTokyo at the time of application, and will be enrolled in a regular course of aCollege, Faculty, or Graduate School throughout the study-abroad period. (Those who are on temporary leave from the University during the time of the program and those who graduate from/complete the faculty/graduate school of UTokyo during the study-abroad period are not eligible.)

(Program Cost)No fee needed if you are endorsed by UTokyo and accepted by the course-offering university (subject to the availability of places)

Application Procedure

To complete AEARU online application, applicants needs to upload the "Endorsement Form" which includes home university's signature. Applicants must contact the International Exchange Group of UTokyo by NOON, July 5 (Tuesday) as follows.
1. Fill out all of the "Student Information" section of the "Endorsement Form" and upload it onto this page to receive our signature (it will take a few days to return).
2. Please send email to let us know that you have uploaded the "Endorsement Form" and your [1]name in Japanese (first name and family name in kanji or katakana. Applicable to those who have name in kanji or katakana), [2]name in English (first name and family name),[3] affiliation, [4]university year, [5]student ID number ,[6]e-mail address to the following address.

Subject: Learning SDGs Globally and locally application
3. Apply to the AEARU website through the application form by the deadline, July 7 (Thursday).

Notes

・Before applying, applicants must make sure that the program does not interfere with their UTokyo courses since no considerations will be made to attend the program. Applicants are responsible for making a clear study plan on their own.
・Before applying, please confirm and consult with your affiliated College, Faculty, or Graduate School at the time of participation to the program about participating in the program to ensure you fully understand issues concerning study-abroad. In case it turned out that participation to the program will affect your study plan at UTokyo, your affiliated College, Faculty, or Graduate School may not permit your participation to the program even after your are accepted by the host institution.
・Participants must submit a report (a form will be sent out to the participants later) to the International Exchange Group of UTokyo, after completing program.
