This is a call for application for the following two summer short programs offered by partner universities in Singapore. For details, please refer to the information below.

National University of Singapore(NUS)"NUS Asia Fellowship Programme"

[Date] 5 weeks from June 5
[Venue] First week (June 5 - 9): NUS, Second - Fifth week: online
[Capacity] Two undergraduate students (year 3 or above, further selection may be conducted by NUS after nomination from UTokyo.)
[Expenses] NUS covers program fee, accommodation for those who are nominated by UTokyo and selected by NUS. Funding support for overseas programme participants to travel to and from Singapore may be provided on a need basis.(Other expenditures such as meals, insurance, personal expenses, and so on are to be paid individually.)
[Scholarships] N/A
[Eligibility Criteria and Requirements]
・Undergraduate students (year 3 or above) from any field of study can apply. Applying students are required to be belong to a regular course of a College/Faculty of UTokyo at the time of application, and will be enrolled in a regular course of a College/Faculty throughout the program period. (Those who are on temporary leave from the University during the time of the program and those who graduate from/complete the College/Faculty of UTokyo during the program period are not eligible.)
・A comprehensive CV and a short essay (750-1000 words) on "How can social media promotes sustainability on campus?" (free format) are required to submit at the time of application.
・English requirements: Students should have good written and speaking English skills.
・Before applying, please confirm and consult with your affiliated College/Faculty at the time of participation to the program about participating in the program to ensure you fully understand issues concerning study-abroad. In case it turned out that participation to the program will affect your study plan at UTokyo, your affiliated College/Faculty may not permit your participation to the program even after you are accepted by the host institutions.

Singapore Management University(SMU)"SMU Global Summer Programme 2023"

[Date] June 26 - July 21, 2023
[Venue] Singapore Management University
[Capacity] Tuition fee waiver: Two undergraduate or graduate students, Fee-paying with partner discounts: Approx. six undergraduate or graduate students
[Expenses] Tuition fee waiver for two students who are nominated by UTokyo and selected by SMU. In the case of fee-paying with partner discounts: 10 or 15% discounts would apply for original tuition fee of 1 course SGD 3,000 and 2 courses SGD 5,000.(Application fee SGD 150, Miscellaneous fee SGD 230, accommodation, airline tickets, meals, insurance, personal expenses, and so on are to be paid individually even in both cases of fee waiver or discount.)

[Eligibility Criteria and Requirements]
・Both undergraduate and graduate students from any field of study can apply. ・English requirements: IELTS score of at least 7.0, TOEFL score of at least 583 points (paper-based) or 93 point (internet-based)
・Before applying, please confirm and consult with your affiliated College, Faculty, or Graduate School at the time of participation to the program about participating in the program to ensure you fully understand issues concerning study-abroad. In case it turned out that participation to the program will affect your study plan at UTokyo, your affiliated College, Faculty, or Graduate School may not permit your participation to the program even after you are accepted by the host institutions.

Application Procedure

Apply from the “Overseas Study” tab on the Academic Affairs System website (UTAS, ITC-LMS). Please follow the application procedures below. Also, please refer to “Applying for Study Abroad Programs via UTAS” .
(1)Make sure to complete the online application via UTAS before the deadline. The electronic application system will be closed after the application deadline.
(2)Please check and follow the instruction indicated on UTAS application form.
(3)Please upload completed "Written Oath", academic transcripts from institutions other than UTokyo (applicable to those who obtained degree from institution of higher education other than UTokyo.) and documents required for each program as described [Eligibility Criteria and Requirements]above on "Attachment” of UTAS when applying.

Notes

1.Internal Selection Process
(1)UTokyo will review the application documents and select students to nominate. The International Exchange Group of UTokyo will then nominate those who have passed the selection.
(2)Notification of the selection results will be made via e-mail to you and the relevant office of your College, Faculty or Graduate school.
