System Design and Dynamics of Data Exchange Markets

Many studies have discussed the economic and utility value of data and data exchange; however, understanding data, legal regulations, dynamics of human interactions, rule-making and market design based on these factors are urgent issues also worth addressing. This study elucidates the factors that contribute to the growth of a robust and secure data exchange market, and evaluates the institutional design and its validity at the growth stage of the data exchange market. Further, we discuss the unique characteristics of data (reproducibility, distribution, sharing conditions, and privacy) by multi-agent simulation and show evidence for sound development of the data ecosystem.
