Building a Regional Innovation Strategy for Sustainable Development

Based on data from collaborative projects and industry-academia-government patents, we visualized the geographical flow of knowledge and technology through, among other things, social network analyses and clarified the characteristics and issues of regional innovation. Additionally, we have visited companies that have been involved in regional innovation projects to confirm the technological trajectory of how technologies have been accumulated in the history of business development of the companies. We have focused on the turning points of the technological trajectory to examine how regional innovation measures were involved in the transition. We have been making policy proposals on regional innovation strategies for sustainable regional development through this series of analyses.
