This project aims at putting into practical use of "the perovskite solar cells" which are seen as the candidate material of innovative low cost solar cell. The organometal halide perovskites have gained much interest as a promising material for low-cost and high-efficiency solar cells. The power conversion efficiency of the organometal halide perovskite solar cells (PSCs) has reached 22% within a few years of its invention, which is comparable to those of polycrystalline Si solar cells, CdTe solar cells, and CIGS solar cells. However, for the practical use of PSCs, many problems remain, including the reliability of its performance under high efficiency pile to make large cells. In this study, the fundamental researches of new structure and new concept targeting 20% of energy conversion efficiencies and module production cost of 15 yen/W, have been conducted by the integrated laboratory through cooperation with the industry, government, and university.
