The urgency about the world’s energy demand is raising the need to develop both conventional and unconventional energy resources such as shale oil and gas. At the same time, however, there is growing concern about the increase of environmental disturbances associated with human activity for exploiting unconventional natural reserves. The purpose of this project is to optimize operational activities at various stages of energy resources development projects, ranging from information gathering to development to production. We aim at establishing novel methodologies for attaining an improved recovery factor while managing environmental disturbances properly.
