This is organized by AUA (Asian Universities Alliance). There will be lectures and workshops on Building a "Building a Better Future: Inspiring Youth for Sustainable Habitat", the theme of the forum. See the program schedule for the details.
Date: January 6 - 12, 2024
Venue: The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Hong Kong)
Host: The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology
Capacity: 3 undergraduate students (potential for one student to be placed on a waiting list)
[Expenses] Free of Charge. HKUS will cover the following (fees).
- The accommodation for up-to-six nights
- The meal plan as specified in the program
- Local transportation including group transfer from and to the airport
- A $500 stipend for airfare
(*Students are responsible to pay for own flights, meals other than specified in the program schedule, insurance & personal expenses.)

[Eligibility Criteria and Requirements]
-Undergraduate students (Graduate students are not eligible). Applicants must be students who are enrolled as full-time undergraduate students at the University during the period of application and the program. (Those who are on temporary leave from the University or those who will lose their student status due to graduation, etc. during the time of the program are not eligible to apply.)
-Please only apply after consulting with the relevant section of the Faculty with which you will be affiliated during the program term in order to receive explanations on the points to be noted concerning the program and, and fully understand the points. Also, please note that there could be specific regulations regarding the program.
-【Insurance/Overseas Student Safety Management Assistance】After passing the internal selection process and being accepted into the study abroad program, students are required to take out Japan Educational Exchanges and Services (JEES) “Futai Kaigaku” and the “OSSMA” (Overseas Student Safety Management Assistance) provided by Emergency Assistance Japan Co., Ltd. as a means of safety management during the program at their own expense (this will not be paid for by the University). Taking out this insurance and OSSMA will be one of the requirements for applying to a study abroad program through this application. Details of the insurance and OSSMA will be sent to students who are accepted into the programs at a later date.
-Students must follow all instructions or warnings given by UTokyo and the host institute.

・Before applying, applicants must make sure that the programs do not interfere with their semester courses since no consideration may be made for attending the program and may make study plan on its own responsibility.
・Participants must fully comprehend the purposes of the programs and strive to complete the program courses while achieving a high level of academic performance.
・Participants must be aware that they are representatives of the University, and thus must comply with the regulations and rules of their host universities.
・Participants must be aware that they have been recommended by the University, and thus must not cancel their participation or be absent without notice.
・Participants must submit a report (google form will be sent out to the participants later) to the International Education Promotion Group, UTokyo, after completing the program.
