The information that forms the cyber world is being enlarged daily by the huge amount of data associated with human cultural and economic activities, etc. However, the incorporation of information on the natural environment into the cyber world has been lagging behind due to the lack of both technology and social mechanisms to support it. At the Field Data Research Center, we are working to 1) improve the quality of field data acquisition and forest field management, 2) develop infrastructures to support data accumulation, long-term system operation, and data science, and 3) provide access to the forest field data to the global open data community in order to contribute to global academic information, and continuously provide natural environment information to the cyber world as living environment for humans. In addition, we will develop the human resources needed for the long-term sustainability of these projects.
