UTokyo Campus Entry Restrictions due to COVID-19 (Hongo, Komaba, Kashiwa and others)

The entrance restrictions to campuses have been relaxed for the time being from Monday, 13 December 2021 as follows.
At this stage, the relaxation of entrance restrictions will be implemented as a temporary special measure, rather than a change to the "The University of Tokyo Guideline for Strengthening COVID-19 Infection Control Measures". Depending on the situation of the spread of the novel coronavirus infection, this measure may be terminated, and the entrance restrictions may be enforced again.

Hongo Area Campuses

As of July 11, 2022

Entry is managed by each building.

  • It will not be necessary for you to show entry notices or health care reports when entering.
  • Please check with those in charge of each building for rules on how to enter.
  • When entering the campus, please continue to wear masks and refrain from activities that increase the risk of infection.
  • Please manage your health on a regular basis and do not enter the campus if you have a fever or other illnesses.

Hongo Area Campuses Entry Map

Komaba I Campus

As of December 13, 2021

All of the campus gates will be open, including those not staffed by security personnel. However, on a trial basis, the gates other than the Main Gate will be open only for certain time periods.

  • It is not necessary for you to show entry notices or admission application email when entering.
  • When entering the campus, please continue to wear masks and refrain from activities that increase the risk of infection.
  • Please manage your health on a regular basis and do not enter the campus if you have a fever or other illnesses.
  • For on-campus members, we recommend that you continue completing the health management reports for health management.
  • Please check the website of the College of Arts and Sciences for the opening hours of each gate.

Komaba II Campus (Komaba Research Campus)

* Contractors and vendors (personnel affiliated with the UTokyo Co-op, cafeterias, construction on campus, etc.) may enter campus via the method instructed by the department in charge of their activity within central administration or another University organization.
