UTokyo Campus Entry Restrictions due to COVID-19 (Hongo, Komaba, Kashiwa and others)

Hongo Area Campuses

As of July 20, 2020

Entry through gates with guards present only. On the Asano Campus, entry is managed by each building.

<University members>

  • Submitting the Health Management Report Form is required in advance.
  • After submitting the Health Management Report Form, you must show the "ENTRY OK" email you receive afterwards to the guard at the gate upon entering campus. (Starting August 17)
  • The notification and trial period for this system will last through August 16. During this period, you can still enter the campus by showing guards at the gate your staff ID, student ID, researcher ID, special entry permit or other form of identification.
  • If for some reason you are unable to submit the Health Management Report form, you must fill it out at the gate when entering campus.


<Non-University members>

  • In principle, entry is prohibited.
  • If you need to enter the campus due to special circumstances, upon confirming with the organization in charge of your activities on campus, fill out the "Registration of Campus Entry (for non-University members)" form and show it to the guards at the gate to gain entry.

Komaba I Campus

As of August 7, 2020

Entry allowed only through the Main Gate.

<University members affiliated with organizations on the Komaba I Campus>

  • Applying in advance and submitting the Health Management Report Form is required for entry.
  • Apply on the Entry Application Site (accessible only via a private website), and present your "Entry Application Response Message" as well as your staff ID, student ID, researcher ID, etc. upon entering.
  • If you have not taken your temperature or have not registered or applied for entry in advance, you can enter once you have had your temperature taken in the guards' office and filled out the "Notice of Entry" form (Form 5) (Word file: 27KB). (You can also fill this form out in advance.)


<All others>

  • In principle, entry is prohibited.
  • Those who have received special permission to enter must, upon confirming with the organization in charge of their activities on campus, show their special entry permit or submit the "Notice of Entry" form (Form 5) (Word file: 27KB) to the guards at the gate.

Komaba II Campus (Komaba Research Campus)

Entry through gates with guards present only.  Entry into each building is managed separately.

<University members>

  • When entering the campus, you must show your staff ID, student ID, researcher ID, special entry permit or other form of identification.
  • It is possible to enter the campus through closed gates by using a card that opens the gate (staff ID, etc.)
  • To enter buildings on campus, a card that grants access to the building (staff ID, etc.) is required (only for buildings managed by RCAST).


<Non-University members>

  • If you have permission to enter the campus, show your ID to the guards at the Main Gate to enter.
  • If you have permission to enter buildings on campus, follow the instructions given to you by those managing the buildings regarding entry.

Kashiwa Campus

As of July 20, 2020

Signs are posted at each entrance notifying that all unauthorized personnel are prohibited from entering campus. Entry into each building is managed separately.

<University members>

  • When entering buildings on campus, follow the instructions given to you by those managing the buildings regarding entry.


<Non-University members>

  • In principle, entry is prohibited.
  • If you have been given special permission to enter buildings on campus, follow the instructions given to you by those managing the buildings regarding entry.

Other Campuses and Facilities

Please contact the organization in charge of the facility you intend to enter.

* Contractors and vendors (personnel affiliated with the UTokyo Co-op, cafeterias, construction on campus, etc.) may enter campus via the method instructed by the department in charge of their activity within central administration or another University organization.
