The FLY Program (Freshers’ Leave Year Program), which started from the 2013 academic year, enables undergraduate students to participate in long-term individual activities in society immediately after entrance to the University and before normal student life starts. The aim of this program is to give students an opportunity to reaffirm or discover the meaning and purpose of studying at the University.
In this program, which is based on the gap year system commonly practiced by Western universities, undergraduate students can take a leave of absence for one year and conduct independent activities with the support of the University. Examples of independent activities done by the participants include short-term study abroad, social contribution activities and internships both at home and abroad, and other international activities.
