UTokyo President tests positive for COVID-19

President Teruo Fujii tested positive for COVID-19 today, 5 April 2021. President Fujii has been experiencing mild symptoms and was resting at home since last Saturday. He took a PCR test today and the result was positive. President Fujii is currently being treated at a hospital in Tokyo.

The university is working with the local public health center to conduct contact tracing and take appropriate measures.

The university will continue its effort to prevent the infection based on the university’s Guideline for Strengthening COVID-19 Infection Control Measures.
