Disposing of Large Waste Items:
 

Rules for large sized items- Notify the center in advance of the item you plan to dispose of and purchase stamps to the relevant value from a local convenience store. You will be given a specific day and place to place the item for disposal. If you are moving or planning to move back to your country, please notify the center well in advance of your leaving date. You can also apply online or by phone. Procedures differ according to the area you reside in. In case you live in the area which is not shown on the website, please refer to your local administration (city/ward office) website and follow their instructions.

Kashiwa campus

The Kashiwa Branch of the Center for Global Education (GlobE Kashiwa), in cooperation with members of the Kashiwa Campus and local volunteer groups, provides essential household items free of charge to help international students and researchers start their new lives in Japan.

‣ Recycle Bazaar

A free Recycle Bazaar is held twice a year to provide useful household items for international students and foreign researchers.

We are currently accepting donations for the bazaar.
Donation period: February 2 (Mon) – April 9 (Thu), 10:00–12:00 / 13:00–16:30
Donation location: GlobE Kashiwa Office (Room 124, 1st floor, Environmental Studies Building)

High-demand items:
Bicycles, small household appliances (microwaves, rice cookers, toasters, etc.), storage items, unused towels, and kitchenware (pots, pans, cooking utensils, etc.)

Items in lower demand:
Used daily necessities (e.g., tableware, clothing), or old items even if unused.
Please note that we may not be able to accept certain items depending on their condition.

We appreciate your cooperation in helping international students and foreign researchers start their lives in Japan smoothly.

‣ Large Household Appliances and Furniture

For bulky items such as large household appliances or furniture that are difficult to transport, item information is posted on this website and on the bulletin board in front of the GlobE Kashiwa office.
Please note that, not only large items but also household appliances such as refrigerators and washing machines are not collected directly by our center.
If you have items you would like to give away, please send the information listed below to the Kashiwa Branch at kio.adm[at-mark]gs.mail.u-tokyo.ac.jp.
Inquiries are accepted at any time.
