NEW!■Career Development Symposium for International Students "Working in Japan- Open Discussion with HR staff from Japanese Companies" (Updated 2023/9/26)
Ask directly to the HR personnel your questions, concerns, and issues when thinking about finding a job in Japan, and make use of them for your future job hunting and career planning.
More than 20 personnel from major excellent companies in fields such as electronics manufacturers, chemical companies, IT companies, consulting firms, and integrated service companies will participate in this event.
You will have a chance to prepare for what you cannot usually ask a corporate recruiter: points to be considered for an interview, choosing suitable companies, changes in the workstyle in Japan, and concerns about working in Japan! This is also a good opportunity to practice for group discussions.
*This symposium will be conducted in Japanese. However, if you are not comfortable with your Japanese language skills, we will make a group for discussion in English.

■UTokyo Career Seminar "Listen to International Alumni - Sharing Job-hunting Experiences & Exchange Meet-up I】
We will listen to experiences and advice from senior international students who have found jobs in Japan and have an exchange meet-up with students who currently engage in job-hunting activities.
Topics will be; how should I choose a company?/how should I choose a job while considering my research field?/what is their recommended approach to obtaining information?/what should I pay attention for doing job hunting in Japan?/what they want to share with you through their experiences, etc.
*This seminar will be conducted in Japanese (partly in English). Q&A and group discussions in English are also available.

■UTokyo Career Seminar for International Students【Listen to International Alumni - Thinking about finding a job and career in Japan - I】
This seminar is an opportunity to think about your career while listening to the experiences of international alumni who have worked for both Japanese and foreign affiliated companies in Japan.

■Global Career seminar- Get to know Career Opportunity in Daikin’s Europe R&D Center (Belgium) 
This seminar will give you specific information about global career opportunity at Daikin Europe, including explanation about Daikin as a company, the R&D center, Q & A sessions, and opportunities for young graduates. Senior employees & managers working in the R&D center of Daikin Europe will directly discuss with you.
*About the Company “Daikin Europe N.V.” 
Daikin Europe, located in Belgium, is the European Regional Headquarter of Daikin Group, the worlds’ leading provider of heating, cooling, ventilation, air purification and refrigeration technology for residential, commercial and industrial purposes.

■Sony Group Company Info & Job Info Session for UTokyo International Students
Sony Group has a very wide range of business domains, collaboration within the group is one of our strengths. During this zoom seminar/info session, we will introduce Sony Group, as well as answer questions on open roles, schedules, etc. This time we will focus on the Q&A session. You can talk with the staff working at the company in a round-table discussion style.
*This seminar will be conducted in Japanese and English. Slides and Q&A session are also available in English and Japanese.

A chance to obtain detailed information on campus regarding what companies are looking for prospective employees. Companies actively recruiting UTokyo International students will join. (Many have previously employed UTokyo students.)
*This event will be conducted in Japanese. (English available at some companies' booths.)
-Companies that are looking to actively recruit international students will participate.
-Compared to off-campus events, you can talk in smaller groups and receive more detailed information.
-There are several companies that have employed international students from UTokyo so far.
-Some companies may accommodate international students who participate in the fair in the selection process. (Language requirements, tests, etc.)

Alumni will share his working experience both in a Japanese and a foreign-affiliated manufacturer. Any questions are welcome, such as "how to select a company as a new graduate," Working in your own way in a Japanese company," "Changing your career to a foreign-affiliated company," "What he has valued for his career," "What to do with creating your own career," "What to do for step-up in your career," "How much you must speak Japanese," etc.
