Summary This is a course offering a number of career skill programs as well as research funding support for UTokyo young researchers who wish to advance their academic career while maintaining work-life balance.
Target

Course participation eligibility requirements:
UTokyo faculty and staff (faculty, researchers, etc.) and doctoral students

Research funding eligibility requirements:
Participants in the Career Skills Course for whom one of following applies:

  • Full-time faculty members, project faculty members, project researchers (excluding professors and project professors)
  • Postdoctoral research fellows

Doctoral students (excluding those on leave of absence for the academic year)

  • Writing Challenge
  • Networking event
  • Seminar on securing research funding

〇 Research funding support for some Career Skills Course participants

NOTE: The support provided is subject to change depending on the academic year.

Application Period Ex. FY 2026 application periods:
Career Skills Course registration period: February to April 2026
Career Skills Course research funding support application period: April to May 2026
