Summary

This program seeks to increase knowledge related to intellectual property of UTokyo employees through short courses with the goal of increasing the number of high-quality single-application patents by UTokyo.

  1. Short Course on Intellectual Property
    This course provides basic information regarding intellectual property rights—including patent rights, copyright, trademarks, and design rights—with the goal of facilitating research and the smooth conclusion of research agreements.
  2. Seminar on Registration of Inventions and Patent Applications
    This seminar provides an overview of the patent system and the internal procedures related to patent application, starting with the registration of the inventions, as well as the registration of written works and knowhow, etc. with the goal of promoting university-wide implementation of schemes for sharing the results of scholarly research with society and promoting university-wide awareness of the rules.

Features In addition to the courses listed above, the program can provide short courses/workshops covering a variety of topics tailored to different audiences—e.g., training sessions for individuals involved in the administration of research agreements, short courses on patents, etc. If interested, please contact the program office.
