Summary Information on recent publications (books) by UTokyo faculty in the humanities and social sciences ,which have been nominated by their respective departments/units as demonstrating excellence and diversity, is collected and published on UTokyo BiblioPlaza—Books Written by UTokyo Professors (website). Instead of the typical publisher blurbs and third-party book reviews, the website features unique commentaries by the authors themselves on the exceptional nature and the scholarly and social significance of their work. There is also an English-language version of the website aimed at disseminating this information to an international audience.
Target Publications (authored by current UTokyo faculty members) demonstrating the excellence and diversity of research and education currently being conducted at UTokyo in the humanities and social sciences.
Publications featured on the website are selected each year based on recommendations by deans and/or departmental heads.
Support Details The website features book introductions/commentaries in both Japanese and English written by the authors themselves.
