Summary Four UTokyo on-campus daycare facilities (Hongo Keyaki, Shirokane Himawari, Komaba Mukunoki, and Kashiwa Donguri), and a corporate daycare center on the Hongo campus (the Poppins Nursery School UTokyo Hongo Sakura) provide support for those balancing work or studies with childcare.
Target UTokyo faculty and staff, graduate students, undergraduate students, international students, research students, and JSPS Research Fellowship for Young Scientists recipients, as well as visiting faculty, invited researchers, and others.
Note: Depending on employment status and working arrangements, only occasional childcare services may be available.
Support Details The on-campus daycare facilities provide services matching the needs of UTokyo researchers, such as the proactive intake of children of students who are generally given low priority at general daycare facilities, rolling enrollment of children of researchers returning to work or school in the middle of the academic year, and after-hours care for the children of researchers who need to conduct experiments and observations late into the night.
