As part of its support for UTokyo researchers1 to balance childcare and research, the University has instituted measures concerning payment of business trip expenses for a child when it is necessary for a UTokyo researcher to have the child2 accompany them on a business trip.

  2. In principle, up to 6th grade.

Support Details Payment will, in principle, be made from external funds that can be executed at the discretion of the researcher. This does not preclude, however, the use of operating expenses or indirect expenses of the department to which the researcher belongs, with the approval of the person responsible for the budget. External funds that may be used to finance the payment are limited to those that are approved for use to pay for expenses incurred in having a child accompany the researcher on a business trip.
